Our estimates are free, written down, and not binding on you until you accept the scope.
These terms cover the use of this website, how an estimate from a licensed electrician in Mesa turns into scheduled work, what a price depends on, and what we warrant when we come back.

When these terms apply from
These terms take effect on October 1, 2026 and were last updated on that same date. They apply to every visit to thewireguyelectric.org from that date forward, and to every enquiry sent through this site, the support chat or the phone number printed on it. If you accepted a written estimate from us before that date, the wording that came with the estimate governs that job.
We date the page rather than leaving a vague note at the bottom because an estimate you accepted in March should not be rewritten by a page we edited in November.
The terms are with Thewireguyelectric, in Mesa
This site is published and operated by Thewireguyelectric, trading at thewireguyelectric.org under the name The Wire Guy Electric. The postal address is 1321 N 65th St, Mesa, Arizona 85205, United States. Phone 602-769-7892. Email [email protected].
We are a family-owned, licensed electrical contractor. The person who quotes your panel upgrade is the person who pulls the wire. Where these terms say "we" or "us", that is the same business you will see parked in the driveway. More on how the crew works is on the about page.
What the site provides, and what it does not
The site describes residential and light-commercial electrical work in Mesa and the East Valley: panel upgrades and service changes, EV charger installation, lighting, troubleshooting and repair, and commercial tenant improvements. Each of those has its own room with spec rows and a price basis on the services page. The site also takes enquiries through a form, a support chat and a phone number.
The site does not give electrical advice for a job we have not looked at. Nothing written here tells you that your particular circuit is safe, that your panel has room for another breaker, or that a device in your house is wired correctly. We do not diagnose over the phone and we will not tell you which breaker to reset. A photo of a panel on a text message is not a load calculation.
The site is not a scheduling system either. Sending the form does not reserve a date on the calendar. A date exists when we have confirmed it back to you with a time window.
Nothing is sold or paid for on this website
There is no cart, no checkout and no payment page anywhere on thewireguyelectric.org. We never ask for card numbers through this site, and no form here collects one. If a page you believe is ours asks you to pay online, it is not ours. Call 602-769-7892 and tell us.
Any figure or price basis you read on this site is an estimate of how a job is priced, not a binding quote and not an offer we are bound by. Numbers move with the work in front of us. A free electrical estimate in Mesa turns into a job in four steps:
- You send the form, chat or call. We ask what the panel is, how old the house is, and where the work has to land.
- We come out and look. Free, and we do the load calculation on paper, not in our heads.
- We write the scope: breaker sizes, wire gauge and length, device types, who calls the utility, which permit, and what is excluded.
- You accept in writing and we book a date. That acceptance is the contract, together with these terms.
Until step four, nobody owes anybody anything. Take the written scope to another licensed electrician in Mesa and compare it line for line. We would rather lose a job on price than argue about scope in somebody's garage in July.
How we price, in US dollars, and what changes a number
Every figure we give is in US dollars (USD) and excludes any tax that applies to the work. Permit fees charged by the City of Mesa are listed as their own line on the estimate and are passed through at cost. We do not mark up a permit.
The basis for each service is on this site and on the estimate itself:
- Panel upgrades and service changes. A fixed written quote after a free site visit. The number depends on amperage, whether the service is a meter-main combination or a separate panel, and how much stucco has to be cut and patched.
- EV charger installation. A fixed written quote, driven by the run length from the panel to the parking spot, the breaker size the charger calls for, and whether the panel has space. Plenty of EV charger installation jobs in Mesa fit the existing 200A service once the load calc is done, and we say so and charge less.
- Lighting. A per-fixture written quote, with attic access, ceiling type and the switching noted on the estimate.
- Troubleshooting and repair. A diagnostic visit first, then a written repair price before any repair starts. We do not start cutting drywall and send a bill afterwards.
- Commercial electrical. Quoted from plans or a walk-through, with permit fees as a separate line.
A fixed quote stays fixed for the scope that is written on it. What moves it is what nobody could see from the driveway: aluminum branch-circuit conductors behind the drywall, a buried junction box with no cover, a service mast that has rusted where it passes the roof line, a slab penetration that turns out to be solid caliche. When that happens we stop, photograph it, tell you the number, and wait. Work outside the written scope does not start on a nod.
We do not quote a panel upgrade over the phone from a photo, and we do not start a job on a verbal number. Both of those end the same way: an argument on day two.
Payment terms, including any deposit on material-heavy jobs, are written on the estimate. They are not collected through this website.
What the written scope covers and how long it holds
The estimate is one page or several, and it names parts. If it says a 200A meter-main combination panel, it says the amperage. If it says 6 AWG copper to a 50-amp receptacle, it says the gauge and the length of run. If a circuit needs a GFCI or AFCI breaker to pass inspection, that breaker is on the estimate with its own price, not folded into a lump sum you cannot read.
How our written estimates work
- Cost of the estimate
- Free, including the site visit and the load calculation
- Form
- Written, itemized, with what is in scope and what is excluded
- Validity
- 30 days from the date on it, then we re-price material
- Material pricing
- Copper and gear move; after 30 days we check before we order
- Permits
- Listed as their own line, passed through at cost
- Utility coordination
- We schedule the disconnect and reconnect where the job needs one
- Inspection
- City of Mesa inspection booked by us and attended by us
- Changes
- Written change to the scope and the price before the work happens
Two things sit outside every estimate unless they are written on it. Drywall finishing and paint: we cut neatly, we patch stucco where we broke it, and we do not texture and paint interior drywall. Anything the utility or the city charges beyond the permit line, such as a meter release delay on their side, is theirs and not ours.
Schedules slip for reasons that are not ours. A panel swap in Mesa is usually one working day of our time. The wait is the utility and the inspector. We tell you the dates we have been given and we do not pad them to look fast.
We come back and fix our own workmanship
If something we installed fails because of how we installed it, we come back and fix it and you do not pay for that visit or that labour. A loose termination we made, a device we wired backwards, a connection that worked itself apart, a box we did not support properly: ours, and we deal with it.
Materials and devices carry the warranty the manufacturer gives them. Breakers, panels, chargers, fixtures, fans and smart devices are all covered by their maker, and we will handle the claim and the swap with you rather than pointing you at a phone number. Labour to change a failed part under a manufacturer warranty is quoted the same way any other repair is, because the manufacturer pays for the part and nobody pays for the trip.
What the warranty on our workmanship does not stretch to:
- Work someone else did before or after us, including the circuit your appliance installer added to the panel we built.
- Damage from a storm, a monsoon surge, rodents in the attic, water intrusion, or a vehicle hitting a pedestal.
- Equipment loaded past its rating. A 48-amp charger goes on a 60-amp breaker. That is the code, not our opinion, and running something hotter than its label is not a workmanship fault.
- Anything modified after we left, including a device swapped out, a breaker changed, or a scope item you asked us to leave out and later had done elsewhere.
- Pre-existing wiring we flagged on the estimate as outside the job. Aluminum branch circuits get a second look and a written note before we touch them.
Call 602-769-7892 with the address and roughly when we did the work. We do not make you file anything. You will not find a year count on this page. We would rather come back when it matters than print a number for the brochure.
What you may not do on this site
Use the site to look at the work, read the price bases and send us a real enquiry. That is the whole intended use. The following are not allowed:
- Sending false contact details, somebody else's address, or an enquiry you have no intention of following up. The form reaches a person, not a queue.
- Automated submission of the form or the chat, scraping at a rate that loads the server, or any attempt to probe, scan or bypass the honeypot and timing checks on
taru3cb.php. - Posting unlawful, threatening or abusive content through the chat widget, or using it to send marketing to us.
- Copying the photographs, the written scopes or the page text to publish as another contractor's work.
- Framing the site, misrepresenting your relationship with us, or presenting our estimate wording as your own licensed advice.
We block addresses that abuse the form, and we keep the server logs for 90 days, which is long enough to see a pattern.
Who owns the text, the photographs and the marks
The text on this site, the job photographs, the layout, the wordmark and the logo files belong to Thewireguyelectric. The photographs are of real work and they are not stock we licensed to look busy. You may link to any page, quote a short passage with attribution, and print a page for your own use when you are comparing bids.
You may not republish the photographs, lift the service descriptions and price bases into another contractor's site, or use the wordmark in a way that suggests we did work we did not do. Trademarks belonging to equipment manufacturers mentioned on this site belong to those manufacturers, and naming a product is not a claim that they endorse us.
What the site is not warranted to do
The website itself is provided as is. We keep it accurate and we correct errors when we find them, but we do not warrant that every page is free of mistakes, that the site is available without interruption, or that a code reference, lead time or price basis written here matches your specific situation. Codes change. Utility procedures change. The inspector's read on a detail is the one that counts on the day.
Nothing on this site is an electrical inspection, an engineering opinion or a safety certificate for your property. A page about EV charger installation in Mesa cannot tell you whether your panel has capacity; only a load calculation at your address can. If you have a burning smell, a hot panel or a breaker that will not reset, stop reading, turn it off at the main if you can do so safely, and call 602-769-7892.
We make no claim about any advertising platform having reviewed, approved or verified this site or this business.
The limit of what we are liable for
For the website: to the extent Arizona law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from the use of this site, including lost time, lost business or data loss caused by a page being unavailable or by information on it being out of date.
For work we are contracted to do: our liability is governed by the accepted written estimate and by Arizona law, and it is limited to putting right our own workmanship and the direct damage our work caused. We do not accept liability for loss of use, loss of income, spoiled stock or other consequential loss arising from a fault in work performed by others, from equipment failure, or from a utility outage.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
When we stop dealing with a visitor or a job
We can refuse or withdraw access to this site, the chat widget and the enquiry form at any time, without notice, where there is abuse of the form, automated traffic, threatening content, or an attempt to interfere with how the site runs. You can stop using the site whenever you like; delete the consent record and the chat token through the cookie notice and nothing of yours stays in the browser.
We also turn down work, and it is better said here than discovered on site. We decline jobs where we are asked to skip a permit on service work, to splice aluminum branch circuits without the proper connectors, or to "just add a breaker" to a panel that is already full or recalled. We will not energize an installation we cannot get inspected. If you want it done that way, we are the wrong contractor and we will say so on the first visit.
Where a job is already booked, either side can cancel in writing before material is ordered at no cost. After material is ordered for a specific job, the written estimate says what happens, and that wording is the one that applies.
Arizona law, heard in Mesa
These terms, the use of this site and any work we contract for run under the law of Arizona, United States. Disputes are heard in the courts of Mesa, and both sides submit to that venue.
On privacy, US state privacy law applies, with California (CCPA/CPRA) named along with the other state laws in force. The GDPR sections of our privacy notice are written for visitors who reach the site from Europe. A complaint about how we handle personal data can go to your state Attorney General, and in California to the California Privacy Protection Agency. Before any of that, write to us; most of it is a mistake we can fix in a day.
How a change to these terms is announced
When we change these terms, we change the effective date and the "last updated" line at the top of this page, and the changed wording goes live at the same time. There is no separate notice email, because we do not run a mailing list and we do not want your address for one.
A change here never rewrites a written estimate you have already accepted. That job runs on the terms that were in force when you accepted it. If a change matters to a job in progress, we tell you on the phone, and we put it in writing with the revised scope.
