Privacy notice · Accessibility · Data requests

Your estimate request stays with us for 24 months, then it is deleted.

You came here to get a licensed electrician in Mesa, AZ to look at a panel, a charger or a dead circuit. To do that we need a name, a number and an address. This page says exactly what else gets recorded, which ad platforms sent you, and how to get all of it back or wiped.

00 · Effective date

In force from October 1, 2026.

This version replaces anything posted here before that date.

This notice takes effect on October 1, 2026, and that is also the date it was last updated. If we change it, the new date goes at the top of the page and in this section. Nothing changes retroactively for data we already hold without telling you first.

01 · Who we are

One family-owned electrical contractor holds this data.

The controller is the business that answers your phone call, not a lead broker.

The site at thewireguyelectric.org is operated by Thewireguyelectric, trading as The Wire Guy Electric, a family-owned, licensed electrician in Mesa, AZ.

Postal address: 1321 N 65th St, Mesa, Arizona 85205, United States.
Email: [email protected]
Phone: 602-769-7892

We do not sell leads, pass your request to another contractor or share a job address with a referral network. The person who reads your estimate request is the person who comes out to look at the panel.

02 · What we collect

What the form, the chat and the server write down.

Only what you type, what your browser sends with it, and an ad click ID if you arrived from an ad.

The estimate form

When you send the form on the free estimate page or the data-request form below, taru3cb.php stores: your name, phone number, email address, the job address, the kind of inquiry you picked, your message, any specification you gave (a breaker size, a charger model, a run length), and whether you ticked the consent box.

Automatically, alongside it: your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, the referring URL, the moment the form was rendered and the moment it was sent. The two timestamps are there to catch bots that fill a form in under a second.

The support chat

If you open the chat, wosoeb6.php keeps the conversation and, if you give them, a name, phone and email. A token is kept in your browser's local storage so you can close the tab and come back to the same thread.

Server and access logs

Like every web server, ours logs each request: IP address, time, page requested, user-agent and referrer.

Cookies and storage

Your consent choice is stored in your browser under site_consent_v2. Ad and analytics cookies are set only after you allow them. The full list with lifetimes is on the cookie notice.

Advertising click identifiers

If you clicked an ad to get here, the link carries a click ID: gclid, msclkid or fbclid. Section 05 covers these.

There are no accounts, no passwords, no payments and no card numbers. Nothing is sold on this site and no payment is taken here. We are an electrician, not a shop.

03 · Why

Each piece has one job.

Your details are used to quote and do the work; the technical data keeps the site running and tells us which ads produced a call.

  • Name, phone, email, job address, inquiry kind, message, specification: to call you back, book the site visit, write the estimate and, if you go ahead, pull the City of Mesa permit and coordinate the utility disconnect.
  • Consent tick: a record that you asked us to contact you about the job.
  • IP, user-agent, referrer, render and send times: spam and abuse filtering, and working out which page the request came from.
  • Chat transcript and token: answering your question and letting you return to the same conversation.
  • Server logs: keeping the site up, tracing errors and blocking attacks.
  • Ad and analytics cookies, click IDs: measuring whether an ad led to an estimate request, so we stop paying for ads that bring nothing. Only after you allow storage.

We do not use your job address for mailers, do not build profiles and do not sell anything to anyone.

04 · Legal bases

Consent, contract or legitimate interest. Named per purpose.

For visitors covered by the GDPR, each use rests on one stated basis.

Purpose and the basis it rests on
PurposeDataLegal basis
Answering an estimate requestForm fieldsSteps at your request before a contract, then contract
Doing the job, permits, utility schedulingName, phone, job address, specificationContract
Chat repliesTranscript, token, optional contact detailsConsent, given when you start the chat
Spam filtering, security, logsIP, user-agent, referrer, timestampsLegitimate interest in a working, safe site
Ad measurement and analyticsCookies, gclid, msclkid, fbclidConsent, through the cookie banner
Remembering your cookie choicesite_consent_v2Legitimate interest; needed to respect the choice
Answering a data requestRequest detailsLegal obligation

Where the basis is consent, you can withdraw it at any time with the Cookie settings button in the footer, or by writing to us. Withdrawal does not undo what was lawful before it.

05 · Ad clicks

We pay for ads. Here is what a click carries.

Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and Meta Ads send paid traffic to this site today.

People searching for things like "electrician mesa az" or "panel upgrade mesa az" see our ads and some of them click. Each platform adds an identifier to the link you click:

  • Google Ads adds gclid.
  • Microsoft Advertising (Bing and its partner sites) adds msclkid.
  • Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) adds fbclid, where a campaign runs there.

The ID tells the platform that a click turned into a visit and, if it did, into an estimate request. It is not your name. With your consent the platform's tag reads it and reports a conversion back; without consent the tags send only cookieless, consent-denied signals as described in section 06.

Running ads on a platform means we follow its advertising policies. It does not mean any platform has reviewed or vouched for this business, and we make no such claim.

06 · Consent Mode v2

Every ad signal starts at denied.

Nothing advertising-related is stored until you press Allow, and Decline puts it all back to denied.

This site uses Google Consent Mode v2. Before any tag loads, four signals are set to denied:

  • ad_storage: advertising cookies may not be written.
  • ad_user_data: no user data may be sent to Google for advertising.
  • ad_personalization: no remarketing or personalized ads.
  • analytics_storage: analytics cookies may not be written.

They stay denied until you press Allow on the cookie banner. Then they switch to granted. If you press Decline, or later withdraw through Cookie settings, all four are set back to denied at that moment and the ad cookies stop being written. Microsoft's UET tag and Meta's pixel follow the same choice on this site.

The choice itself sits in site_consent_v2 in your browser and is kept for 6 months, after which the banner asks again.

07 · Who receives it

Five recipients, named.

Nobody else gets your data, and none of them buys it.

  1. Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC, for Google Ads. Attaches gclid to a click and receives the Consent Mode signals. Policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
  2. Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd, for Microsoft Advertising. Attaches msclkid. Its handling is covered by the Microsoft privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.
  3. Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd, for Meta Ads. Attaches fbclid where a campaign runs there. Policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy.
  4. Our hosting provider, which serves this site, keeps the server logs and stores the inquiry and chat database.
  5. Our mail provider, which carries the notification of your request to our inbox.

When a job needs a permit, the City of Mesa gets the job address and scope on the permit application, and the utility gets the service address for a disconnect. That is part of doing the work you asked for, not marketing.

08 · Transfers

The data sits in the United States.

If you write to us from Europe, your details travel to the US and the ad platforms move them under their own safeguards.

We work in Mesa and our systems are run for a US business. A visitor who reaches the site from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland is sending data to the United States.

Google, Microsoft and Meta transfer data between their Irish entities and the US under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where they are certified, and under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Our own handling of a form you send from abroad rests on it being needed to answer the request you made.

09 · How long

Fixed periods. Then deletion.

No category is kept "as long as necessary"; each has a number.

Retention by category
Inquiries and their email copies24 months
Chat transcripts6 months
Server and access logs90 days
Record of a consent choice6 months
Reply to a data requestWithin 7 days

Twenty-four months covers the usual life of an electrical job: an estimate, a wait for a utility appointment, the work, the City inspection and a call-back if something we installed needs looking at. Ad platforms keep their own data on their own schedules, set out in their policies.

10 · Security

Locked down, and kept small.

The best protection is not collecting what we do not need.

The site is served only over HTTPS. The inquiry and chat store is not publicly reachable and sits behind a password-protected panel that only the owner uses. Forms carry hidden bot traps and a timing check. We hold no card data and no passwords of yours, so there is nothing of that kind to leak.

If a breach ever affects your data, we tell you and any authority the law requires, without delay.

11 · GDPR rights

If you are in Europe, these seven rights are yours.

The GDPR sections apply to visitors who reach the site from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland.

  • Access: a copy of everything we hold about you.
  • Rectification: correct a wrong phone number, address or name.
  • Erasure: have it deleted, unless we must keep a record of work done.
  • Restriction: have us stop using it while a dispute is sorted out.
  • Portability: get it in a plain, machine-readable file.
  • Objection: object to use based on legitimate interest, such as log analysis.
  • Withdrawing consent: at any time, with no effect on what came before.

Use the data-request form or email us. No fee.

12 · US state rights

California and other state laws.

US state privacy law applies, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA by name, plus the other state laws in force.

Under the CCPA and similar laws in Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states, you can ask to know what we collect, get a copy, correct it, delete it, and limit use of sensitive data. We do not collect sensitive data.

We do not sell personal information for money. Ad cookies set after you press Allow can count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out of sale or sharing by pressing Decline, by using Cookie settings in the footer, by sending a Global Privacy Control signal, or by writing to us. We will not charge you more or treat your request any differently because you used these rights.

An authorized agent may make a request for you with your written permission.

13 · Global Privacy Control

Your browser can say no for you.

A Global Privacy Control signal is treated as an opt-out, and we do not ask again.

If your browser or extension sends the Sec-GPC header, this site honors Global Privacy Control: the four Consent Mode signals stay denied, ad cookies are not set and the banner does not try to talk you out of it. It counts as a valid opt-out of sale and sharing under California law.

14 · Children

Not for children.

We wire houses for the people who own or run them.

This site is meant for adults arranging electrical work. It is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly take data from them. If a child has sent us something, tell us and we delete it.

15 · Accessibility

Built to be read without a mouse.

We aim at WCAG 2.2 level AA and fix what falls short when we hear about it.

Every page has a skip link, one main heading and a logical heading order. The menu opens as a full-screen dialog that traps focus and closes on Esc. Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall. Text is dark charcoal on cream, well above a 4.5:1 contrast ratio for body copy. The running text strips stand still if your system asks for reduced motion. Forms label every field and say in plain words what went wrong.

Where we know of gaps: the marquee strips on the home page repeat text that screen readers hear once, and the large decorative numerals are hidden from them on purpose. If something on the site stops you reading a page or sending a request, call 602-769-7892 and we take the details by phone. Tell us what broke at [email protected] and we reply within 7 days.

16 · Complaints

You can go over our heads.

Talk to us first if you like, but you do not have to.

You can complain to your state Attorney General; in Arizona that is the Arizona Attorney General's Office. In California you can also complain to the California Privacy Protection Agency. Visitors from Europe can complain to the data protection authority where they live or work.

17 · Data request

Ask for your data, a fix or a deletion.

Answered within 7 days, free, by a person.

Use the form, email [email protected], or write to 1321 N 65th St, Mesa, Arizona 85205, United States. Tell us which right you are using. To make sure we give your data to you and not to someone else, we match the request against the phone or email you used before; if those do not match, we call the number on file.

Helps us find the record. Optional.

Not a data request? For a panel, charger, lighting or fault job, use the free estimate form instead.

18 · Changes

A change gets a new date and a notice.

We do not quietly rewrite this page.

When this notice changes, the new date goes at the top and in section 00. If the change touches what we collect, who receives it or how long we keep it, the cookie banner shows again so you can make a fresh choice, and anyone with an open inquiry gets an email about it.

19 · Contact

A person picks up.

Privacy questions go to the same inbox and phone as estimate requests.

Email [email protected], call 602-769-7892, or write to The Wire Guy Electric, 1321 N 65th St, Mesa, Arizona 85205, United States.

If you came here before booking: the services page lists what a panel upgrade, an EV charger install or a lighting job covers, the cookie notice lists every storage key, and the terms cover estimates and our workmanship warranty.
